Writing resources and stuff. Because good writing always matters.
My vote goes to Dead Poets Society.
A very interesting pedagogical approach about the movie “The King’s Speech” with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Sorry but this article was written in greek. :)

I came across these books just before my second practicum and, believe me, they came in handy. These books are available across most subject areas and I found that they really inspired me to change up my lesson plans and try completely new, engaging and rewarding activities with my students. They are also extremely affordable (I think i payed $20 each (which included postage).
This seems like a very compelling series of books, and many have favorable reviews on Amazon. I put together a list of some of them here so you don’t have to search.
Note that while this link does take you to an Amazon list I created, it is not an Amazon Affiliate link, I am not an Amazon Affiliate, I am not affiliated with the author or publisher, and do not benefit financially in any way by you clicking that link to the list of these books above.
Oh goodness, I just added five of ‘em to my Amazon wishlist.
Edudemic’s post explains this well, but Diipo.com is a new social networking site made for classrooms. Based on Edudemic’s explanation and briefly visiting Diipo’s site, it looks like Edmodo and Ning had a child and called it Diipo. It the same capabilities I love about Edmodo, but adds onto it with blogging capabilities. It looks like (based on images from this post) Diipo also has capabilities of having different tabs for your classroom, which is something I would have liked to see on Edmodo (for example, if I posted an assignment, it could easily get drowned out by newer student posts and then be difficult to find).
The one thing I couldn’t find by quickly browsing is if students can only privately message the teacher or if they could also privately message one another. Edmodo did not allow students to interact with one another privately, which makes it easier for teachers to monitor what’s going on. I would be wary of Diipo if it allows student to student messages.
Otherwise, I definitely plan on giving this more thought in the future.
Interesting stuff. We are totally gonna check this out and tell you more about it…

Sadly, this is so true. We are raising a generation of test-takers who don’t actually understand what they’re “learning,” or how to apply what they’re learning. Many students simply go from one test to the next, doing the bare minimum to get the “A” (or the desired score). You can’t really blame them: they have 6 million other tests to prepare for. (Sigh.)

Directions: Fill in the bubble (neatly and within the allotted space…there’s a tutorial up top if you need it!) with a #2 pencil (and only a #2 pencil!) that corresponds to your answer given the 2-5 choices (and only those 2-5 choices!).
Things in Greece are worse.
